Hey there and welcome to the show. We're in the planning stages of Season 4 but I couldn't wait until then to tell you some very exciting news. No Time to Be Timid is one of eight finalists in the Arts and Culture category of the prestigious Signal Awards, which honor the podcast industry. And you know who else is a finalist in our category? Oprah. We're in the same category as gosh darn Oprah and her show, Oprah's Super Soul. We're also alongside shows like Talking Pictures, which is hosted by Ben Mankiewicz, a TV journalist and a host of Turner Classic Movies, and Poetry Unbound, which is hosted by the celebrated Irish poet and theologian, Padraig O'Tuama.

The rest of the hosts are just as impressive, and I gotta admit, I'm a little gobsmacked by the company we're in. And here's what's also thrilling. My fledgling production company, I Will Be Good Productions, which consists of me, who has the good sense to collaborate with the wildly talented Adam Arnone, is in the running with Warner Brothers, The On Being Project, and Oprah's Network OWN which have much larger teams to produce their shows. We are lean, and we just couldn't be more tickled.

And since we're a finalist, we're eligible for a coveted Listener's Choice Award. So I have a favor to ask. Please go to my website, triciaroseburt.com and click on the link on my homepage to vote for No Time to Be Timid. As of this recording, I'm in third place, so I've got a real shot at this. Voting ends October 17th, so again, please go to my website, triciaroseburt.com, and vote for our show. And thank you for all of your support.

Now in my last episode back in August, I mentioned that my husband Eric and I were going to walk a portion of the Camino in Spain. If you don't know what the Camino is, it's a legendary pilgrimage that starts in France and ends at Santiago de Compostela in Spain. People have walked the Camino for more than a thousand years. It's a physical manifestation of their individual spiritual journeys. Now we didn't do the entire 500-mile trek, which takes you over the Pyrenees and takes about two months to complete.

Tricia (02:30.222)

I'd love to do that one day, but this wasn't the time for it. And there's a bunch of different Camino routes you can choose throughout Portugal and Spain. We walked the last portion of The French Way, which was about 75 miles. We were with a group of 17 people, some we knew, some we didn't, all of whom we now consider good friends. It took us about a week, averaging around 10 miles a day. And before we left, I thought about recording some of the journey for this podcast. But when I got there, I just couldn't do it. I wanted to be present for the experience, not fiddling with equipment, wondering if I got a good recording to use when I got back home. I thought, I'll write in my journal instead. And then I even put that aside. I hardly took any pictures. I didn't want to think or process any information. I just wanted to be in the moment. And the moments were amazing. We walked through hills, eucalyptus forests, medieval churches and small villages. But what I loved most about the experience was its simplicity. Every day we woke up and walked. That was it. We just walked. And depending on my mood, I either walked with a pack or with one or two fellow pilgrims, or sometimes I just walked on my own. But each day the direction was clear. Walk. Walk and pay attention to your surroundings. Walk and pay attention to what's going on inside of you. Walk and let the walking transform you. And it reminded me of the creative process. The direction is clear. Show up and make. Show up and make and pay attention to your surroundings. Show up and make and pay attention to what's going on inside of you. Show up and make and let the making transform you and the world around you. As artists, we're always on a pilgrimage, a journey to our own sacred places.

And there's a wonderful Mary Oliver poem that one of our group shared with us while we walked the Camino, which I think sums up an artist's journey. It's called Mysteries, Yes. I'll try to do it justice.

Tricia (04:40.846)

Truly, we live with mysteries too marvelous to be understood. How grass can be nourishing in the mouths of the lambs. How rivers and stones are forever in allegiance with gravity while we ourselves dream of rising. How two hands touch and the bonds will never be broken. How people come from delight or the scars of damage to the comfort of a poem. Let me keep my distance always from those who think they have the answers. Let me keep company always with those who say, look, and laugh in astonishment and bow their heads.
